VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – A 57-year-old woman riding a motorcycle was killed Thursday in a crash with a truck hauling a trailer in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The crash happened just after 4 p.m. on High Bridge Road near Walter Boardman Lane.

According to a crash report, the Wisconsin woman was the passenger of the 2025 Harley Davidson Heritage, which was driven by a 64-year-old Wisconsin man.

Troopers said the motorcycle was heading west on High Bridge Road when it failed to negotiate a curve and entered the path of a Toyota Tacoma that was heading east. The motorcycle hit the left side of a trailer the Toyota Tacoma was hauling and both the Wisconsin man and woman were thrown from the bike.

The Wisconsin man was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and the woman was pronounced dead on scene, according to troopers. Both of them were not wearing a helmet, according to the crash report.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Toyota Tacoma, a 65-year-old Palm Coast man, was interviewed and told troopers he was unaware the motorcycle hit the trailer.

The Toyota Tacoma was taken into evidence for processing, and an investigation is ongoing.
