VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. – Over 20 people were caught at a drug house in New Smyrna Beach early Thursday morning, according to the Volusia Sheriff’s Office.
In a release, the sheriff’s office provided video of the bust, which deputies said happened at 350 Mission Drive around 6 a.m.
“It is a home loaded with ne’er-do-wells, Volusia Sheriff Mike Chitwood says. ”We are hitting this place for meth. It is going to be a who’s-who of scumbags."
Chitwood said that many of the suspects involved are connected to a previous warrant that the sheriff’s office executed elsewhere in the city.
“And they all just reassembled into another property here,” he explained.
According to the sheriff, there were four “prime targets” in the drug raid — suspects who combined have faced at least 200 felony charges throughout their criminal histories.
Video shows law enforcement officers removing people from the home, with detritus seen on the property and tents pitched in the backyard.
“I have never been in a bigger pig pen,” Chitwood stated. “A filth-infested, vermin-infested property like this. It’s not fit for human habitation.”
