State confirms 1st Central Florida measles case in Osceola County

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – A measles case was confirmed in Osceola County, according to the latest data from the Florida Department of Health.

The case, the first for Central Florida this year, was confirmed in a person in the 25 to 29-year-old age range. The patient contracted the illness in the U.S., but outside of Florida.

The last time Osceola County reported a measles case was in 2011, with only one case reported.

The latest data, which ended on March 7, shows 132 measles cases in Florida, with 100 cases found in patients between the ages of 15 and 24.

By comparison, Florida reported seven measles cases in all of 2025.

  • Collier County: 98
  • Duval County: 6
  • Pinellas County: 6
  • Escambia County: 5
  • Manatee County: 3
  • St. Johns County: 3
  • Alachua County: 2
  • Broward County: 2
  • Hillsborough County: 2
  • Lee County: 2
  • Miami-Dade County: 1
  • Osceola County: 1
  • Pasco County: 1

Florida has the third-highest number of measles cases so far this year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
