Barricaded suspect prompts law enforcement response in Fruitland Park neighborhood

FRUITLAND PARK, Fla – Lake County deputies are on scene Sunday in Fruitland Park after a barricaded person allegedly threatened a neighbor with a firearm, authorities said.

Deputies responded April 5 to a home in the 4500 block of Sunnyside Drive, according to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office.

The sheriff’s office said the subject is barricaded inside the residence. Negotiators are on scene and attempting to make contact.

Deputies have tried to evacuate nearby residents, the Lake County Sheriff’s Office said, though it is not clear whether there is a threat to the public.
