Authorities said bystanders at the scene pointed deputies in the direction the alleged suspect ran. A deputy located Reed a short time later, and shot him during an encounter, officials said.

The suspect was taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where the person was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Following standard procedure, The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the deputy-involved shooting and place the deputy who fired the shot on administrative leave.

No law enforcement personnel were injured, authorities said. This remains an active investigation.
