KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Police in Kissimmee now say the body that was discovered in a neighborhood on Thursday is part of a homicide case.

The victim has now been identified as Charles Harper, 71.

Police say they responded to a home on Heather Way, in a neighborhood off Mill Slough Road, after getting a report about a person with “apparent injuries.” That’s when they found Harper.

Harper’s vehicle was taken from the home, police say, and has since been recovered by the Altamonte Springs Police Department. It’s a dark blue Nissan pickup truck with a Florida tag of 89E-EYV. It’s missing paint in several places.

Detectives say they are still investigating the case, and they are looking for information from the public on what may have happened to Harper, or any information on where the vehicle may have been from the time it left Harper’s home on Thursday, after 10:15 a.m., to when it was found by Altamonte Springs police.
