‘Suspicious’ death investigation kicks off in Polk County, sheriff declares

POLK COUNTY, Fla. – A death investigation kicked off in Polk County on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.

In a video statement on Tuesday afternoon, Sheriff Grady Judd said he was at Wilder Way in Eagle Lake.

“We’re working the death investigation of a female. And it’s suspicious,” he said. “But we believe we have a suspect — or suspects — identified, so there’s no danger to the community."

However, Judd also stated that the sheriff’s office isn’t able to release any additional information at this time.
