Body found behind Ross store at Kissimmee shopping plaza, police say

KISSIMMEE, Fla. – Kissimmee police are investigating after a body was found behind a shopping plaza late Wednesday night.

Officers were called to Plaza del Sol on Vine Street and North Hoagland Boulevard just before 11 p.m. When they arrived, they found a person behind the Ross store. That person was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers blocked off much of the parking lot for several hours as they investigated. Evidence markers were visible on the ground, and officers moved in and out of the building throughout the night. Video from the scene shows the large police response that remained in place for hours before the scene was cleared.

The age and gender of the person found have not been released.
