Lake County shelter takes in 85 dogs, seeks help with care

TAVARES, Fla. – The Lake County Animal Shelter needs help after taking in 85 dogs from a “high-volume pet owner.”

The dogs are undergoing medical evaluations right now. The shelter is looking for rescue organizations that can help care for the dogs, especially groups that can take 10 or more small dogs.

The shelter says it’s the largest amount of dogs they’ve ever taken in.

These dogs are not up for adoption, but the shelter has other dogs that are and need homes. The shelter says it has 423 animals in its care right now.
