Students placed 3rd in worldwide problem-solving competition

More than 800 teams competed

ORLANDO, Fla. – Fifth-grade students at Princeton Elementary School earned third place in the worldwide Odyssey of the Mind competition, Orange County Public Schools announced in a news release.

Odyssey of the Mind is an educational program that promotes creative problem-solving skills. Teams of students from across the world work to solve problems ranging from building mechanical devices to presenting literary classics. Their solutions are then brought to a local, state and world competition level. More than 800 teams competed at the worldwide level.

The 2014 Odyssey of the Mind competition was held at Iowa State University on May 28 through May 31. The Princeton Elementary School team brought home a trophy from the competition.
