ORLANDO, Fla. - The apartment complex where a University of Central Florida graduate was slain Saturday was also the scene of another attack days earlier, according to Orlando police.
On September 21, a man was held at gunpoint while walking to his mother's car in the parking lot of the Verona at Valencia Park Apartments, police said. The victim told investigators the gunman stole his wallet, then told him to count to 20 and threatened to kill him if he turned around.
On Saturday, Robert Bosso, 28, was shot and killed in the same complex during an attempted robbery, according to police.
Police said it's unknown if the two crimes are connected.
News 6 spoke to Bosso's mother who said that Bosso's girlfriend was with him when he was shot and they had just returned from dinner. She said Bosso's girlfriend is distraught, so police are having a hard time figuring out what exactly happened.
According to Bosso's mother, Bosso had spent the day with his father on Saturday and went to church, adding that her son was very religious. Bosso worked for Lockheed Martin.
Detectives said the suspects are described as three to five black males wearing dark clothing.
A witness to the incident was interviewed by police officers.
Since Saturday's shooting, extra security has been seen checking IDs and license plates at the entrance to the apartment complex.
Orlando police are asking that if anyone has information regarding this crime to contact Crime Line at 407-423-TIPS.
