Man accused in Sanford bar shooting, captured in Volusia County

Victim shot in head at Wet Spot bar on Park Avenue, police say

Andraus Zyrae Lee, 22, was arrested in Volusia County after Sanford police say he was involved in shooting in downtown Sanford.

SANFORD, Fla. – Authorities from multiple Central Florida law enforcement agencies have made an arrest in a shooting that happened just after midnight Saturday in the parking lot of a downtown Sanford bar.

Sanford police said they were called to the Wet Spot bar on Park Avenue at 12:35 a.m. Saturday for a shooting. When police arrived, they saw a beige Toyota Camry quickly leaving the parking lot of the bar.

Authorities found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. He was taken to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police continued to track the car that left the scene, attempting to make a traffic stop, but the driver fled into Volusia County, where the car crashed near a wooded area.

Volusia County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested the driver, Andraus Zyrae Lee, 22, and his passenger.

According to the Volusia County Jail website, Lee is charged with resisting an officer without violence, fleeing law enforcement and leaving the scene of a crash.

Sanford police said charges related to the shooting are pending.
