More details released in arrest of filmmaker accused of trying to make child porn

Local talent agency tipped off authorities

Investigators with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement released on Monday more details in the arrest of a man they claim posed as a filmmaker to lure girls for sex.

Kevin Hernandez Orth, 25, of Puerto Rico, was arrested on Friday outside the Orlando resort he was staying at after investigators claim he agreed to pay money to film himself having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

Investigators said they were tipped off by an Orlando talent agency who received an email from Orth, asking for under-age talent to pose in bikinis.

Undercover officers then sent an email to Orth, posing as the father of a 14-year-old girl.

"This isn't a guy that this is his first time doing something. This is a guy that has probably started with child porn and building up to do this," said Jack Massey with FDLE.

Investigators said that Orth visited Orlando at the same time last year, in town for an annual convention.

FDLE said that Orth made it clear to who he believed was the girl's father, he planned to have sexual intercourse on camera with the intent to sell the video. Therefore, parents of any possible victims could also face charges.

"He would as a rule he would give the parent or whomever possibly the guardian, he would give him the video tape, or her the video take afterwards," said Massey. "Basically he wasn't on anyone else's radar. Had it not been for this talent agency, he would have not been on our radar and he would have been continuing to victimize victims."

It's also alleged that Orth told the undercover officer that he worked with a group of 10 people who travel the country, filming sex with children.

Law enforcement believes Orth arrived to Orlando from Puerto Rico on Nov. 1, and was scheduled to leave the day he was arrested.

Inside his room investigators allegedly found an envelope with $400 in cash, which was the agreed amount in exchange for sex. Also found were two video cameras.

According to the arrest affidavit, the undercover officer wanted to make sure Orth understood the agreement was for sexual intercourse by asking if he should bring a condom. The document states that Orth requested he bring protection and stating, " I don't want her to get pregnant."

Orth is being held without bond because of his connections outside the country.

FDLE asks that anyone who made contract with Orth or his fictitious "Candy Land Films" to contact them at 800-226-8521.
