WILD VIDEO: Pet zebra on the run in Tennessee after escaping from owner

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, Tenn. – A pet zebra is still on the loose in Tennessee after being spotted along a highway and in a residential neighborhood.

The zebra, nicknamed Ed, has been spotted running through Rutherford County, including along Interstate 24 outside of Nashville.

“Several professional tracking groups are involved in the search and a K-9 search is scheduled,” the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office said earlier this week in an update on social media.

According to sheriff’s officials, the zebra’s owner said they obtained the animal Friday night.

It was not immediately clear how the zebra was obtained or how it got away from the owner.

Memes and sightings of the runaway zebra have been popping up on social media since the weekend.
