ORLANDO, Fla. - Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer could be running for Florida governor in the 2014 election.

Dyer, who is at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. this week, has reportedly been hinting at a possibility of running for governor.

Local 6 obtained a statement from Dyer's office, which reads, "At the convention there has been a lot of focus on 2014 and Mayor Dyer has received a lot of encouragement from others to run for Florida Governor in 2014. Mayor Dyer is going to spend the next 60 days working to get President Obama re-elected and after the 2012 elections will weigh his options."

Dyer was re-elected for his third term as Orlando mayor in April over Phil Diamond, a former city commissioner; Ken Mulvaney and Mike Cantone.
