GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis held a news conference Monday to praise Florida’s colleges and universities during his time in office.
DeSantis was joined by the State University System chancellor and several university and college presidents from around Florida to talk about the schools.
Last week, U.S. News and World Report released its annual “Best Colleges” ranking.
The University of Florida ranked No. 7 among public universities and No. 30 among all universities. It’s the eighth year in a row that UF has ranked in the top 10 for the nation’s public universities.
Other schools in the top 100 for public universities:
- Florida State University at No. 21, in a tie with Texas A&M University, and No. 51 among all universities
- University of South Florida at No. 43, in a tie with two other universities, and No. 88 among all universities
- Florida International University at No. 46, in a tie with two other universities, and No. 97 among all universities
- University of Central Florida at No. 57, in a tie with five other universities, and No. 117 among all universities
- Florida A&M University at No. 92, in a tie with six other universities, and No. 169 among all universities
- Florida Atlantic University at No. 100, in a tie with three other universities, and No. 183 among all universities
