YULEE, Fla. – Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Wednesday that the state will award $6.25 million to Nassau County to build a roadway network serving a new industrial and commercial site near the U.S. 301 and Interstate 10 interchange.
DeSantis, joined by Commerce Secretary Alex Kelly and local officials, also outlined workforce and infrastructure priorities funded through the Job Growth Grant Fund and the Rural Infrastructure Fund.
He credited state education and apprenticeship programs for helping Florida reach its goal of being No. 1 in workforce education ahead of schedule.
“We want people to know there are other pathways where you can be successful and really seriously successful with some of the things that we’re doing at our high schools, our state colleges, all these different things," said DeSantis.
The governor also said the state is pursuing federal approval to expand the Atlantic red snapper season, citing success with Gulf management. He described recent job gains in manufacturing and said rural awards often deliver greater impact per dollar.
