MIAMI – At least half a dozen firefighters were hurt in a crash involving a fire truck and ambulance Tuesday afternoon in Miami.

WPLG reports the crash occurred near Northwest 12th Avenue and Northwest 14th Street.

A Miami Department of Fire-Rescue spokesman said the ambulance was traveling west on 14th Street and the truck was headed north on 12th Avenue when they collided. He said the truck was on its way to a call.

WPLG reports four firefighters in the fire truck and three firefighters in the ambulance were injured.

Three other people -- two children and their grandmother -- in the ambulance were hurt, as well as a child and adult in a car.

They were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital.

Both vehicles had their sirens on when they crashed.
