The building on Lee Road near Interstate 4 has been the home of several strip clubs over 40 years. It's best known to residents by its original name, the Booby Trap, which also described its domed design, resembling a woman's breasts.
City leaders said the location was a hot spot for crime over the years, requiring countless hours of police involvement.
"It's a gateway to our community and unfortunately it's been a source for a tremendous amount of crime, drug activity and prostitution," said Winter Park Mayor Ken Bradley.
In December, the building's owner signed a sales contract, selling the structure and the land to the city of Winter Park, which will re-sell the land.
Local 6 has learned that no adult-oriented business will be allowed to open at the location, according to the city's code.
