All 👀 On The Atlantic

We’re right on schedule. The calendar flipped to August and just like that, we’re tracking a tropical wave from Africa.

It’s truly too early to tell what’s going on with this thing. Model guidance this far out and when the storm hasn’t developed a well-defined center really can’t be trusted.

Here are two things to watch.

1. Where the storm develops.
2. Where high pressure is about a week from now.

Model guidance continues to indicate a weakness in the steering ridge as the storm passes north of the Caribbean.

If that weakness comes to fruition and the ridge of high pressure retrogrades back west, there is a high potential that this storm will turn and stay out at sea.

Either way, we’re likely looking at our first hurricane of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season and it could be a strong one. I’ll keep you posted.
