⛰️Today Marks The Season’s Peak

No description found

The climatological peak of hurricane season is Sep. 10. I’m not a big fan of using a day as the peak for the season because it implies a down trend is coming.

Peak season really runs from the third week of August through the middle of October.

Anyway, eventually that will be the case, but Floridians know all to well that historically late September and October have not been kind to the Sunshine State.

Chief meteorologist Candace Campos talks about some of those late-season storms that impacted Florida.

While the National Hurricane Center did highlight a new wave near Africa, it has been unusually quiet during what should be the most active time of the year.

If you are a frequent reader of the newsletter then you may know why it has been so quiet.

If you would like to catch up on where we stand in relation to pre-season forecasts and find out why it has been so quiet check out my story here.

It’s the same reason that 2024 was held back. Naturally, the lid that has been keeping things nice and calm will come off just like it did last year.

I have the whole rundown in that story above.

Thanks for reading!
