One of the two tropical waves we have been tracking together has been named by the National Hurricane Center.

Invest 93L, the one in the Central Atlantic farther out at sea, has organized into Tropical Storm Humberto.

Humberto

This one is likely to curve, but Bermuda will have to keep an eye out.

The other wave we have been watching is now in the eastern Caribbean. Heavy rain will be likely from Puerto Rico to the Dominican Republic as the waves moves over the islands.

Land interaction will keep this disturbance weak over the next several days.

After that, there is still some uncertainty. Land interaction could completely dissolve the storm all together. It could feel the tug of Humberto and do a dance with it and head out-to-sea (yes, please), or it may keep going west in the Caribbean.

Let’s avoid that third option all together.

Most of the ensembles swing the system north toward the Bahamas. A few keep it heading west.

We’ll go over some more models tonight at 9:30 on News 6+ and the News 6 YouTube page. More info on how to watch below.
