These fronts not only help to suppress storms, they also start to cool the Gulf waters to help zap some of the storm’s fuel.
Now, November is part of the season so we always watch. It was just a few years ago Hurricane Nicole made landfall in the state of Florida.
Nicole became one of three hurricanes in recorded history to make landfall in Florida during the month of November.
Development areas in the basin shrink dramatically in November. Typically, storms that do develop do so in the western Caribbean or off cold fronts off the east coast.
Storms could also transition from non-tropical systems to tropical systems over the still warm waters of the subtropical North Atlantic.
