Maybe you can create some powerful, happy memories for a Patronus!

Hey, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on. ⤵

šŸŖ„ ā€˜Harry Potter and the Cursed Child’ is wrapping up its Florida debut in Orlando

"Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" wraps up Florida debut Feb. 15. (WKMG)

Some Harry Potter magic is gracing an Orlando stage, marking a Florida debut and the only Florida stop on the tour.

ā€œHarry Potter and the Cursed Childā€ follows Harry Potter’s headstrong son, Albus. Harry is working at the Ministry of Magic, and Albus is just starting out at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

When the sorting hat puts Albus in a different Hogwarts house than his father, he becomes friends with the son of Harry’s rival, Draco Malfoy. The divide between father and son becomes stronger, setting off a chain of choices that leads Albus to alter the past and reshape the future, with unintended consequences.

I had the chance to see the show, which felt timely because I just finished reading the 3rd Harry Potter book, and now I’m on the 4th one!

I also spoke with the actors who play Harry Potter and Hermione Granger.

In The Loop newsletter writer, Haley Coomes, posted the schedule here.

I also really liked checking out The Magic of Disney on Broadway exhibit inside CommuniCore Hall.

✨ What’s happening in downtown Orlando? IMMERSE returns

Architects of Air’s Arborialis launches IMMERSE ahead of the festival weekend Feb. 20–22. (Architects of Air)

Downtown Orlando is starting to change into a vibrant, multi-sensory arts playground.

Creative City Project is bringing back its iconic large-scale arts celebration Feb. 20–22.

Before that, you can check out Architects of Air’s Arborialis on select dates this month. It’s located at the Seneff Arts Plaza in front of the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. The experience offers a walk-through luminarium filled with color, light, and labyrinthine design.

The installation runs through Sunday, Feb. 22.

As for the IMMERSE event itself, performances and art activations will take over 10 city blocks in downtown Orlando from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. on Feb. 20 and 21. The event stretches from City Hall up to Central Blvd.

Some of the large-scale art installations include a 14-foot heart at City Commons Plaza and OUC Lights & Raindrops.

Headlining performances include Cirque du Soleil, Blue Man Group, Orlando Vocal Collective, and MESH.

I put together a guide with everything you need to know.
