Where do you stand on anime shows?

I don’t really follow the genre, but it seems to be growing in popularity, and it’s always interesting to hear from the voice actors in the shows.

Hey, I’m News 6 producer Brooke Savage, the writer behind this Setting The Stage newsletter.

Let’s take a look at what’s going on. ⤵

Will you be at the Orange County Convention Center this weekend?

MEGACON Orlando runs through Sunday. The convention showcases fans and pop culture, from sci-fi and fantasy to anime and video games to comic books and cosplay.

Dozens of celebrities will be there, including John Cena, Brendan Fraser, and a huge “Lord of the Rings” cast reunion.

I had the chance to speak with Zach Aguilar, the voice actor behind Tanjiro in “Demon Slayer.” He explained how he landed his role and what it takes to be a voice actor.

See the full interview here, that’s also where Digital Journalist Christie Zizo, posted everything you need to know.

Percy Jackson wakes up to powers he cannot control and a destiny he does not want, and you can catch the musical based on a beloved book in a theatre with more than 100 years of history.

The show is adapted from Rick Riordan’s best-selling novel “The Lightning Thief.”

“The Lightning Thief: The Percy Jackson Musical” sends the half-blood son of Poseidon on a quest to clear his name after Zeus’s lightning bolt is stolen.

The plot follows Percy as he tries to find the bolt, travel to the Underworld and back, and solve the Oracle’s riddle warning of betrayal by a friend. Percy also has to come to terms with the father who abandoned him.

The show will be at the Eustis State Theatre through March 29. I had the chance to hear from some of the actors in the show. They shared what to expect, and I posted ticket information.

A musical comedy billed as a Renaissance farce that pokes fun at theatrical rivalries and the birth of the modern musical is at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts through Sunday.

Set in the 1590s, “Something Rotten!” from Little Radical Theatrics follows brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom, who are desperate to write a hit play while living in the shadow of the era’s most famous playwright, known as ‘The Bard.’ When a local soothsayer predicts that the future of theatre will combine singing, dancing and acting, the Bottoms set out to write what they hope will be the world’s first musical.
