The Cure Bowl is entering its fifth season, but despite the fact that it hasn't been around for very long, the game has produced an expansive history of great moments.

From teams achieving feats never before done, to exciting, exhilarating plays, there's no denying the Cure Bowl has given fans and college football teams some especially memorable moments.

Here are five memorable events from the previous four renditions of the Cure Bowl.

Ervin shines for San Jose State

San Jose State will forever lay claim to being the champion of the first Cure Bowl, thanks to running back Tyler Ervin, who made winning plays on offense and defense.

Ervin rushed for 132 yards and returned a punt for a touchdown to help lead the Trojans to a 27-16 win over Georgia State in the inaugural Cure Bowl in 2015.

Georgia State makes history twice

Despite losing to San Jose State in the 2015 Cure Bowl, Georgia State made history by making a bowl game just five years after its program started. That tied the record for fastest time going from program conception to a bowl game in college football history.

In 2017, Georgia State followed that up by winning its first bowl game ever with a 27-17 win over Western Kentucky in the third installment of the Cure Bowl.

A game-changing play

In the 2016 Cure Bowl, Arkansas State saw hometown Central Florida cut a 17-0 lead to 17-10 -- and then the team was in desperate need of a momentum-changing play.

Arkansas State got it in the first minute of the second half, when Justice Hansen hit Kendall Sanders for a 75-yard touchdown pass to give Arkansas State a 24-10 lead.

Arkansas State was never threatened after that, winning the game 31-13.

Sanders was named the game’s MVP after catching five passes for 127 yards.

Dominant defense from Georgia State

Defense marked the biggest reason why Georgia State won its first-ever bowl game with a 27-17 win over Western Kentucky in the 2017 Cure Bowl.

Georgia State’s defense held Western Kentucky to minus-2 yards rushing, registered six sacks and had two interceptions.

Rare in-state battle

It’s not often bowl games produce rivalry games between two schools from the same state, but that's what happened in the 2018 Cure Bowl.

It was an all-Louisiana matchup between Tulane and Louisiana, with Tulane coming out on top 41-24 to earn bragging rights over its in-state rival.

Who knows what will happen this year? We can't wait to find out!
