UCF sweeps American weekly player awards

ORLANDO, Fla. – UCF swept the American Athletic Conference weekly player award honors for performances during its comeback victory over BYU last week.

The conference announced Monday that Knights quarterback Justin Holman, linebacker Terrance Plummer and return man J.J. Worton claimed the offensive, defensive and special teams player of the week awards, respectively.

Holman threw a game-tying touchdown in the fourth quarter and the game-winner in overtime to help UCF rally past BYU 31-24 on Thursday night.  He finished 30 for 51 for a career-high 326 yards.

Plummer was active throughout, posting 17 tackles, a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery. He was also named the Walter Camp National Defensive Player of the Week.

Worton had five punt returns for a combined 77 yards. He leads the AAC averaging 12.4 yards per return.
