Crews prepare for Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl

Kickoff for Friday's game between Florida, Michigan set for 1 p.m.

ORLANDO, Fla. – Thousands of people crowded the Citrus Bowl in Orlando Tuesday night, but instead of taking the day off, officials are working hard Wednesday.

That's because they have just two days to get ready to host their second bowl game this week and third this month.

As soon as the referees blew the final whistle at Tuesday's Russell Athletic Bowl, crews started preparing for the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Inside and outside the stadium Wednesday work didn't stop. From adding fresh paint, to additional seating, Craig Borkon with Orlando Venues said it takes a total team effort to make sure the stadium is ready come Friday.

"A lot goes into that from cleaning up the stadium, making sure it's ready to go, to scrubbing the field, and making sure all the paint is off the field from the Russell Athletic Bowl," said Borkon.

Not only was Tuesday night's game between Baylor and North Carolina entertaining to watch, Borkon said it also went smoothly from a security standpoint.

He also added that officials will continue to work closely with the FBI, Homeland Security and local law enforcement leading up to Friday's game between Florida and Michigan.

"We are taking some extra security measures that we usually will do. Some you'll see, some you won't see, just to make sure we are safe," said Borkon. "But there's no threats as of right now."

The Russell Athletic Bowl drew around 40,000 fans to the Citrus Bowl. However, on Friday, 20,000 more fans are expected for the Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl.

Some Michigan fans, like the Kleins, are already in Orlando for the big game.

"We are trying to scout out the area and try and figure out where we are going to have our tailgate," said Sharon Klein.

Friday will also be the first time they've been to the Citrus Bowl since it was renovated earlier this year.

If you've been to the stadium recently, there's a good chance you've noticed the $200 million changes.

"Fans are enjoying their experience from the second they park to when they're leaving because everything is brand new," said Borkon. "The fans were who we had in mind when we built this stadium."
