Florida may issue Dan Marino license plate
TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – You may soon be able to drive with Dan Marino each time you start up your car.
The Miami Herald is reporting that the Florida legislature is considering a bill that would approve a specialty license tag to benefit the Dan Marino Foundation.
The bill was filed Wednesday by Rep. Joe Abruzzo, of Boynton Beach.
While the Miami Dolphins, along with Florida's other pro and collegiate teams, are represented on license plates, a Marino tag would be the first to honor a specific player.
According to the foundation's website, Marino and his wife, Claire, created the organization in 1992 with a focus on improving the lives of persons with autism or other developmental disabilities.
