FIFA President visits Orlando to preview inaugural FIFA Club World Cup

Orlando is the only city with two stadiums hosting games

ORLANDO, Fla. – FIFA President Gianni Infantino made an appearance in Orlando on Wednesday to preview the inaugural FIFA Club World Cup.

Orlando is the only city to have two venues hosting matches at both Camping World Stadium and Inter&Co Stadium. Eleven other cities across the United States will host matches.

“We created this new competition to determine which team, which club team is the best team in the world,” Infantino told News 6’s Jamie Seh in a sit-down interview. “We bring the best teams in the world from Europe, South America, North America, Africa, Asia and Oceana to the United States. We bring the best players in the world from Vinicius Junior to Lionel Messi to Kylian Mbappe to Erling Halaand to Rodri to Jude Bellingham... they will all come here; they will all play, and one of them will be crowned the best in the world, and they will lift this incredible trophy.”

With the recent announcement of the 2031 Women’s World Cup coming to the United States, Orlando hopes to make a good impression now to potentially earn a bid as a host city. The city missed out on being a host city for the 2026 Men’s World Cup. And Infantino has taken notice.

“If the results of this Club World Cup that takes place now are positive,” Infantino said. “Which I’m convinced they will be, not just with both stadiums but with the welcoming atmosphere in the city to welcome the fans from all over the world. Then, I think that the prerogatives and conditions for being a host city for the World Cup in 2031 will certainly be met.”

Here is the schedule of FIFA Club World Cup games coming to Orlando:

June 17 - Ulsan HD vs. Mamelodi Sundowns FC at Inter&Co Stadium

June 20 - SL Benfica vs. Auckland City FC at Inter&Co Stadium

June 24 - Club León vs. CR Flamengo at Camping World Stadium

June 26 - Juventus FC vs. Manchester City at Camping World Stadium

June 30 - Round of 16 match at Camping World Stadium
