Central Florida has a rich history of champion boxers, including Antonio Vargas, whom News 6 has known for a long time.
The Osceola High School grad has fought his way to the top after bursting onto the scene nearly 10 years ago as an amateur.

He won the Pan American Games and boxed for Team USA at the 2016 Summer Olympics.
Still humble and hardworking, Vargas’ star is even brighter.
He’s a professional fighter now. He’s also a father and a world champion.
Vargas earned the World Boxing Association (WBA) bantamweight title in December, achieving a career goal.
He told News 6, however, that he is not done. Not even close.
Vargas is preparing to defend this title right now.
He’s got a fight in Japan on July 30, with his goal being a knockout and bringing his belt back to the United States.
