“(It) felt good, felt good to move a little bit after the long flight” Wagner said Tuesday after Magic practice in Berlin. “I’m excited for Thursday.”

Franz and his brother, Moe Wagner, were both born in Germany. Both brothers play on the Magic and for the German senior men’s national team.

The Wagner brothers helped Germany win gold at the 2023 FIBA World Cup and made a semifinal appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics.

Franz helped Germany win gold at EuroBasket 2025 alongside Magic teammate and fellow German native Tristan Da Silva. Moe was rehabbing his torn ACL from the Magic’s 2024-25 season.

“It’s going to be a great day, obviously,” Franz said about playing in his home country. “Not just for everybody at the game, but for German basketball in general. So, I’m excited to be a part of that.”

Moe made his regular season debut with the Magic last Sunday. Now, both brothers will be available to play Thursday in Berlin.

“It’s pretty surreal,” Moe said after Tuesday’s practice. “Obviously, once the practice starts and the game starts, you want to keep the main thing the main thing. Driving through the streets with the team bus and all that stuff, it’s really cool.”

The Magic will play the Grizzlies Thursday at 2 p.m. ET in Berlin, followed by a Sunday matchup again with the Grizzlies in London at 12 p.m. ET.
