With the day off ahead of their next game Friday at 4 p.m., the team took some time Thursday to discuss another well-played win with Seh.
Seh: Did you guys practice today? And if so, how did it go?
Bianca Vandenberg: We practiced. We just hit in the cages but it went really well, pretty good.
Asst. Coach Brent Fieser: Yeah, we had somewhat of an abbreviated practice. We’ve had rain here, so we did the cages, but everybody’s swinging it real well.
Seh: Awesome. Addison, you’ve been hitting the ball really well. How does it feel to make it to this point, what you guys been able to do in the last couple of games?
Addison Bono: It feels nice because even when we’re down, I can still trust in my team to still have the courage to fight back. Like, for example, yesterday.
Seh: Where is Alana? (...) You know, Alana, you had key hits yesterday. How much confidence do you guys have in each other to deliver the big moments like you did yesterday?
Alana Luu: Yesterday, I mean, I know my team had a lot of confidence in me personally because they always tell me that they believe in me and our whole team just believes in each other. My coach, before, had a talk with me about how he believes in me and all that and so I had a lot of confidence going up to play. I wasn’t scared. I wasn’t going to choke up. I just knew I was gonna be good.
Seh: OK, let’s talk to the pitcher, Cayden (...) You guys have been awesome on the mound, you know? Talk about what has your mindset been in these big moments and everything.
Cayden Hugh: Having fun, and I know I pitching for my teams and for the fans.
Seh: Your fan base is really loud on TV. What does that support mean to you guys?
Cayden Hugh: A lot. It makes me feel better on the mound that I have parents supporting me, too.
Asst. Coach Brent Fieser: Yeah, they made her work yesterday. The zone was really tight, so Cayden had to really battle and hit her spots and even when she was hitting her spot she wasn’t getting those calls so we kind of had to tighten it up and put it down the middle and she still did such a great job keeping her head and it’s really cool to see an athlete this young be able to battle through that adversity and then show up and come out on top.
