Disney removing bride auction from 'Pirates of the Caribbean' ride

Magic Kingdom attraction to be revised by next year

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. – One of Walt Disney World's most popular attractions is about to become a bit more politically correct.

Disney officials have confirmed they are planning on replacing a famous scene in the Pirates of the Caribbean attraction.

For decades there has been an auction scene showing pirates bidding for a bride.

However, Disney said when the ride 43-year-old ride goes down for revisions next year, the scene will be updated.

According to newly released artwork, the new scene will still feature an auction, but will be for goods instead of women. Also, the redheaded woman in the scene will no longer be a prisoner, but a pirate.

Disney said the same change will also be made on the original Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland in California.

It will be the biggest change to the attraction since Captain Jack Sparrow was added in 2006.
