PORT EVERGLADES, Fla. – Making a grand entrance on a ship themed to heroes and villains sets the stage for an unforgettable adventure aboard the Disney Destiny.
The ship’s Grand Hall, inspired by Marvel Studios’ Black Panther, serves as both a central gathering space and an entertainment hub.
Walt Disney Imagineers crafted the design with thoughtful details that honor Wakanda, drawing inspiration from the Black Panther movies.
Metalwork on the pillars mimics the banded armor and stacked jewelry iconic to Wakandan culture.

At the heart of the Grand Hall stands a statue of T’Challa, the Black Panther himself — king, protector and beloved brother. Above, a breathtaking chandelier fashioned after Vibranium, the rare metal from Wakanda, casts a glow over geometric patterns inspired by Queen Ramonda’s crown.

The space is a living theater where heroes and villains from across the Disney universe take center stage. Throughout the day, the Grand Hall radiates a bright, optimistic energy — a hero’s welcome. But with transformative 360-degree lighting, it can shift into a mysterious realm filled with the aura of legendary villains and mischief makers.
Guests may encounter Loki, the God of Mischief, who appears unpredictably to declare himself ruler of the ship or recruit guests for playful competitions.
Another memorable character is Dr. Facilier, the sinister practitioner of the macabre, who often lingers with dazzling tricks and games of chance.
On Nov. 20, the Destiny sets sail on its inaugural voyage with four- and five-night cruises to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean.
The Destiny is the third ship in Disney Cruise Line’s Triton class, alongside the Wish and Treasure, which sail from Port Canaveral.
