ORLANDO, Fla. – An attraction at Islands of Adventure is set to temporarily close for refurbishment for nearly a whole year.

Jurassic Park River Adventure will close on Jan. 5, 2026, and reopen on Nov. 20, 2026, according to the park app.

The ride takes you on a raft through Jurassic Park’s herbivore containment area before you come face-to-face with a T-rex. The beloved attraction features an 85-foot plunge that was once the “largest theme park water descent ever constructed.”

Universal Orlando did not detail what updates will be made during the upcoming refurbishment.

Starting in 2026, Universal Orlando will offer new multi-day ticket options for guests to visit Epic Universe.

Parkgoers can purchase 3-day, 4-day or 5-day tickets that allow daily entry to all three major theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure and Universal Epic Universe.
