Computer models are locking on to a broad area of spin expected to form over Central America to our southwest. This broad counter-clockwise turning in the winds is called a "gyre".

We're getting close to the final stretch of time regarding the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season. While it has been slower than initially perceived, we've had some pretty monstrous storms out there. Thankfully they've stayed away. Will our luck continue to hold? I want to break that down for you today, especially as we tend to shift gears at about this point in time regarding where we monitor for potential named storm development.

We may already be tracking a spot in the Caribbean Sea that could try to produce our first named storm of the hurricane season.
