The Caribbean-inspired chain Bahama Breeze has announced abrupt closures of over a dozen restaurants — including some in Florida, according to USA Today.

Federal authorities and the Broward Sheriff’s Office have announced the arrests of nine MS-13 gang members, one of whom was hanging drywall in The Villages when he was found, according to News 6 partner Local 10 News.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A worker at a South Florida steel plant was killed when a beam fell on him, authorities said. Juan Ayala, 58, was pronounced dead at the scene last Thursday at Steel Fabricator LLC in Oakland Park, according to a Broward Sheriff's Office news release. Ayala had been welding an I-beam when it somehow became dislodged and fell on top of him, officials said. Homicide detectives and officials with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration are investigating the death. No foul play was immediately suspected.

OAKLAND PARK, Fla. – A 31-year-old woman was arrested on a child neglect charge after she was found passed out behind the wheel of car at a South Florida intersection with an open bottle of vodka in the front passenger's seat and a 2-year-old child in the backseat, deputies said. The concerned citizen tried to wake Hernandez by banging on the window, but she was unsuccessful. Oakland Park paramedics arrived and successfully woke Hernandez. Deputies said there was a bottle of vodka in the front passenger's seat that was only about two-thirds full. Hernandez claimed that she picked up the toddler about noon without having slept to go to a birthday party.
