For the next several days, officials with the Florida Department of Transportation will be going to different crossing locations across Central Florida to show drivers and pedestrians ways to avoid getting hit by a train.

Florida Department of Transportation spokesperson David Parks said the goal this week is to show drivers across Central Florida just how easy it is to not get hit by a train by simply paying attention to existing road markings and signs.

Police officers and deputies across Central Florida teamed up with more than 600 law enforcement agencies on Tuesday for the largest rail safety initiative in the United States.
