Police have been given more time to question a man arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a car collided with a crowd of Liverpool soccer fans celebrating their team’s Premier League championship title.

In Scotland’s two biggest cities, Glasgow and Edinburgh, pubs have been closed for 16 days to suppress the outbreak.
