A jury on Wednesday found a man guilty of murder in the fatal shooting of a Leesburg store clerk during a robbery last year.

Testimony began Tuesday in the murder trial of a man accused of fatally shooting a Leesburg store clerk during a robbery last year. Alex Lopez was arrested in the shooting death of Raied Shihadeh, 51, who was killed May 29, 2024.

Police said that the accused shooter — Alex Lopez, 25 — was responsible for killing the clerk during a robbery at a superette along Picciola Road back in June.
