The Central Florida Expressway Authority has approved the Southport Connector Project, a controversial 15-mile highway designed to ease traffic from Poinciana Parkway to the Turnpike.

Osceola County Sheriff Chris Blackmon said Jose Astacio, 30, was arrested by the Miami-Dade County Robbery Intervention Unit in Hialeah on Wednesday.

Deputies say a driver was grazed by a bullet and his passenger was shot in the face in a road-rage shooting in Osceola County.

A 42-year-old woman was killed in a crash in Polk County, according to the sheriff’s office.
