US 17-92 reopened near Kissimmee after scrapyard fire forces shutdown

Old Tampa Highway still closed

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. – U.S. 17-92 was shut down south of Kissimmee on Thursday as Osceola County crews dealt with a fire at a nearby scrapyard, according to the fire department.

U.S. Highway 17-92 at Ham Brown Road has since reopened in both directions.

Old Tampa Highway was still closed at Broad Street as of around 8 p.m. Thursday, according to Osceola County Fire Rescue.

A spokesperson for Osceola County Fire Rescue described a working, multiple-alarm fire with no risk to surrounding structures.
