SANFORD, Fla. – For my Trooper Steve on Patrol live stream on Thursday, I’m highlighting an event that’s all about holiday cheer, community spirit and of course, our four-legged friends.
Seminole County Animal Services is hosting its third annual Paws & Claus celebration on Saturday, Dec. 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Fort Mellon Park and the Sanford Riverwalk.
This family-friendly event brings together everything we love about the season: festive shopping, great food from local vendors and a chance to snag that perfect holiday photo with Santa Claus. And yes, pets are not only welcome but encouraged to join in on the fun. If you’ve ever wanted a Christmas card featuring your dog in a Santa hat, this is your moment.
One of the things I admire most about Seminole County Animal Services is their commitment to responsible pet ownership. During the event, they’ll offer discounted rabies vaccines and microchips for just $5, making it easier for families to keep their pets healthy and protected through the holidays.
If you’ve been thinking about adding a new furry member to the family, this is also the place to be. Paws & Claus will feature dogs and cats available for adoption, along with local animal organizations ready to help you find the perfect companion.
Event Details:
- When: Saturday, Dec. 6, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Where: Fort Mellon Park and the Sanford Riverwalk, 600 E. 1st St., Sanford
I’ll be previewing the event on my stream today, and I encourage everyone to come out, meet some incredible animals and enjoy a day of holiday fun along the water.
