LAKE COUNTY, Fla. – Lake County drivers will soon see relief along a major east–west route between Mount Dora and Sorrento.
State Rep. Anthony Sabatini (R–Lake County) confirmed to News 6 that Wolf Branch Road is scheduled to reopen on Saturday, following weeks of emergency repairs and drainage upgrades prompted by historic flooding in late October.
The roadway, which washed out after 15 to 19 inches of rain fell across parts of Mount Dora and Eustis on Oct. 26, has been closed while crews replaced damaged infrastructure and reinforced vulnerable sections.
The same stretch of Wolf Branch had only recently reopened in October after being rebuilt from damage caused by Hurricane Milton in 2024.

County officials previously said work on Wolf Branch Road included raising the elevation of the roadway, adding new culverts, and improving drainage to better handle runoff from nearby neighborhoods and businesses.
The goal is to keep the corridor open during future heavy-rain events that have repeatedly overwhelmed stormwater systems in the area.
