Immigration bans will lead to fewer healthcare workers, study says

A new study suggests the trump administration's immigration bans could worsen access to healthcare. The research published in JAMA found 24-thousand physicians and 56-thousand nurses already in the US in 2023 are from 19 banned countries. Researchers say preventing future health workers from coming to the US will worsen the ongoing shortage, especially in underserved communities.
