Intruder shot, wounded after forcing his way into DeLand home, police say

A man accused of breaking into a DeLand home Monday morning was shot by a resident Monday morning, police said. The shooting happened near the 100 block of Voorhis Street, southeast of East Kanesville Boulevard. DeLand police said a woman who lives at the home answered a knock at the door, thinking it was a delivery. Police said the man, who had a gun, forced his way inside the home.
