Pickleball brawl: Couple faces charges in fight at country club

A Volusia County couple faces charges after allegedly getting into a fight with their pickleball opponents on Sunday, according to the sheriff’s office. Anthony Sapienza, 63, and Julianne Sapienza, 51, were arrested that afternoon at the Spruce Creek Country Club, records show. Deputies and fire rescue responded to the country club upon hearing that more than a dozen people were involved in a physical altercation with reported injuries, according to an arrest affidavit.
