Here’s what happens to kids arrested for making threats at school

Over a weeklong period in early March, Volusia County authorities arrested at least five juveniles, ages 10 to 15, on suspicion of making threats to shoot, kill, or blow up other students. More than two dozen threats have been reported so far this school year in Volusia County, according to Sheriff Mike Chitwood. He expects the tally to top the 35 logged in the 2024‑25 school year.
