Body of fallen soldier returns home to Polk County

The body of U.S. Army Maj. Cody Khork, 35, and Polk County native, returned home on Wednesday. The U.S. Department of Defense announced earlier this month that Khork and five others were killed in Kuwait. The Department of Defense says it happened during an “unmanned aircraft system attack.” The soldiers were supporting Operation Epic Fury. Friends of Maj. Khork called him his best friend, son, and true leader.
